Dola Purnima is one of the most popular festivals in Orissa. The Dola Festival at our village , Starting from Falgun Dasami, the idol of village deities, particularly Krishna, is paraded through the village, visiting each household. The bearers and the followers of the procession are adorned with Abira, a vibrant violet-colored powder. The deity is elegantly placed on a beautifully decorated palanquin, known as Vimana, accompanied by the harmonious tunes of singers and musicians. At every stop, the deity is honored with Bhog, which includes sweets crafted from the latest harvest and a variety of fresh fruits. In exchange, the deity blesses each home with different "Abhira" colored powders, symbolizing the joyous arrival of the Holi festival.
The Sidheswar Mahadev (Shiva) temple in our village Santol, holds annual festival every year. There ia a grand celebration that draws devotees from near and far.
